Accents in Motion
An exploration of Paralanguage, using the movement of dancers to develop communication.
Paralanguage modifies or adds nuance to verbal meanings or convey emotion, by using for instance tone of voice, volume, intonation. Which are also musical parameters leading to an exploration of how paralanguage forms a bridge between language and music. Paralanguage is also interesting as those vocal parameters are strongly linked to our bodies, where we can intuitively see correspondances to levels of energy, pitch and shape in bodily movements.
